Discovery Masterclass: Hot vs. Cold — Going Beyond Brewing Japanese Tea
This immersive discovery masterclass invites participants to go beyond conventional brewing and explore Japanese tea through a sensory-led, hands-on experience. Using authentic Japanese tea tools, guests will actively brew and taste six carefully selected Japanese tea varieties, prepared at different temperatures to reveal how brewing technique transforms aroma, texture, sweetness, umami, and overall expression.
Through guided experimentation, the session demonstrates how temperature control and brewing methodology can unveil hidden layers, optimize flavor balance, and elevate each tea to its highest potential—whether brewed hot, warm, cold, or iced.
The masterclass features six teas sourced from four distinct prefectures of Japan, highlighting regional character, cultivar influence, and stylistic diversity. The tasting experience is complemented by a curated pairing of two artisanal desserts, thoughtfully selected to harmonize with the teas and enhance the sensory journey.
