A specialty of the mountainous region of Ureshino, Saga Prefecture, this spring-harvested Kamairicha is a rare Japanese pan-fired green tea crafted entirely from the Sayamamidori cultivar.

Sayamamidori is a highly distinctive cultivar, originally bred for its resilience in cold climates and prized for producing teas with a deep, full-bodied umami and vibrant green liquor. Unlike more common cultivars, Sayamamidori is known for its refined sweetness, gentle astringency, and rich mouthfeel, qualities that make it especially well-suited for pan-firing.

In this Kamairicha, the leaves are gently roasted in an iron pan, a traditional Ureshino technique that enhances the cultivar’s natural depth, adding a delicate roasted aroma and silky smoothness. Crafted by a renowned family-owned artisan, this tea embodies both terroir and mastery.
