Ingredients:
4 g premium Matcha powder
100 ml water (85°C)
100 ml milk of your choice (dairy or plant-based)
120 g ice
Method / Best Practice:
- Prepare the matcha: Sift the matcha powder into a bowl to avoid clumps. Add 100 ml of hot water (85°C) and whisk vigorously using a bamboo whisk (chasen) until smooth, frothy, and vibrant green.
- Cool it down: Add a few ice cubes to the matcha to bring the temperature down quickly while preserving its color and freshness.
- Assemble: Fill a tall glass with the remaining ice. Pour in your choice of chilled milk. Slowly layer the prepared matcha over the milk to create a beautiful two-tone effect.
- Serve: Stir gently before drinking, or enjoy as-is for a layered presentation.
