Sencha Myōe originates from the historic tea gardens of Kyōtanabe in Uji, an area renowned as the birthplace of shaded teas and home to Japan’s finest Gyokuro and Sencha. Produced by Fukujuen (est. 1790), one of Kyoto’s oldest and most respected tea houses, this Sencha reflects both heritage and mastery, named in honor of Myōe Shōnin, the monk who introduced tea cultivation to Kōzan-ji Temple.
